THE COUNTRY HOUSE IN CORDOBA (Andalucía)

This privately-owned estate is in a superb geographical location in the Cordoban foothills of the Sierra Morena mountain range and is situated between the towns of Almodóvar de Río and Posadas. It is flanked by the Breña reservoir and the evocative Mediterranean Andalusian forest.

Comprising more than 1,200 hectares, the fields and meadows around the Country House in Córdoba are used in a harmonious and diverse way. In addition to raising organic livestock and grassland, various native species can be seen, such as deer, wild boar, roe deer and partridge. This rich diversity also includes a very special and unique organic olive grove and one of the country’s most highly acclaimed olive oils is produced here at their very own olive press.

The main house is a stunning architectural reinterpretation of the classic Andalusian cortijo, or country house. The house is built around an impressive courtyard and offers views over the Breña reservoir and beyond to the incomparable Almodóvar castle. The courtyard is enclosed by adjoining verandas and allows an exceptional light to pervade the entire complex. The rustic Andalusian traditions mix with an attentive English-inspired décor and give the house an unrivalled ambience.

The property has all the amenities and luxuries one could imagine. There are 10 magnificent suites, 2 lavish lounges and several other open living areas. The house features an impressive multipurpose pavilion, a carefully decorated dining room where catering services are offered and many outside patio areas. The complex also includes a large garden and an infinity pool that appears to fall into the Breña reservoir. Last but not least, there is a charming chapel, where those who wish to pray may do so while finding peace among the carved sculptures, paintings and intimate decoration.

LOCATION:

Lying in the Posadas and Almodóvar del Río Districts, 30 minutes from the AVE (high-speed train) station in Córdoba and approximately one hour from the Seville airport. Located about 430 kilometres from Madrid by road. The high-speed train between Madrid and Córdoba takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Workshops on local agriculture can also be organised such as tastings of the award-winning olive oils which are produced in the property’s olive press. Visits at harvest time, and when the olives are pressed - where one can learn first-hand how exceptional in both quality and flavour this olive is.
